When you’re struggling… it can be hard to know where to start.

Our practice is here to help you slow down, connect more deeply, and find increased clarity.

Perhaps you have been through a painful or traumatic experience. Maybe you’re feeling deeply alone with a difficult challenge to overcome. You don’t have to be alone with hard things - therapy can support you.

For the past four years, this practice has been dedicated to supporting individuals and couples through meaningful, person-centered therapy. We believe that people carry the ability to heal within themselves - and with empathy, a non-judgemental listening ear, and a safe compassionate space, new paths forward can emerge.

It’s okay to lean on others when things get tough.

Counselling can help.

Our Therapists in

Port Moody

Right now, you’ll meet with Lara, the owner and director of Alara Counselling & Relationship Centre. We’re currently in the process of growing into a group practice, and we are so excited that more people in the tri-cities will be able to have access to couples therapy, as well as, kind and compassionate care.

Lara Rabb, MA, Registered Clinical Counsellor

Lara works primarily with individuals and couples, often parents and Queer folks. She will invite you to slow down and really explore what’s happening beneath the surface. She believes people don’t need to be told how to “fix things”, but instead need a safe space to explore what is going on, lean in to their inner knowing, and trust themselves again.

Here’s How We Can Help

  • Photo of woman sitting in a store with a window beside her.

    Individual Therapy

We provide evidence-based approaches to therapy where we work to identify what you are experiencing and how we can make meaningful change in your life.

  • Couples holding hands with ring on ring finger

    Couples Therapy

We help couples have hard conversations - exploring where their relationship is stuck, and how they can get things moving in a more satisfying direction once again.

Our Practice is Growing

We’ll soon be welcoming new associates to the team! Each therapist will bring their own unique strengths while sharing the same commitment to creating inclusive, non-judgmental spaces, where healing and growth can happen.
